Since 1871 Bingham was founded by Mr. Seymour Bingham who, from London, as an agent of the English decking company Halcomb, saw opportunities in the port of Rotterdam. Bingham started as a sailmaker and small-scale seller.
On February 15, 1929, Bingham Schiedam moved to the current location in Schiedam, partly becayse of the connection with the group of ports in the western direction. The company then consisted of a tarpaulin rental department, a sailmaker's and rigging department, a flag department and a sunshades department, later expanded with the production of roller shutters and closures.
Bingham Schiedam is an industrial sailmaker and specialized in covers, attachments such as lifting straps, lashing straps and ropes. PVC, PE and foils are also part of the permanent stock items. Various projects pass by every day, from small to big projects which are handled with the same care and craftmanship. Every day Binghamd delivers his projects or items to shipchandlers and other clients. Our sailmakers are always busy producing the custom work.
